MT5 copy trading
MT5 copy trading
SFX Hub copies MT5 traders onto a MetaTrader 5 account you hold with your own broker. You choose how trades are sized, how much risk to take relative to the trader, and the drawdown and daily loss at which copying stops.
MT5 copying is in beta, and for some accounts it is invite-only. Copied trades are leveraged CFDs, which can lose money fast.
01 / How it works
- Connect your MT5 account with its login, its server (pick your broker's server from the list or type it in) and its password.
- To copy trades you need the master (trading) password: an investor password is read-only and cannot place copied trades.
- Pick a trader from the leaderboard and set your limits.
Copying runs through a third-party MT5 copy-trading provider that connects to your broker account. Your broker holds your funds.
02 / How trades are sized
- Copy mode: ratio, fixed lot, mirror, or a percentage of equity.
- Risk multiplier: from 0.1x to 100x the trader's size, with a recommended level based on your balance.
- Lot limits: a minimum and maximum lot size for any copied trade.
03 / Limits that stop copying
- Drawdown pause: copying pauses when your account falls a set amount from its peak equity.
- Daily loss limit: an account-wide cap on the day's losses.
- Max open trades: how many copied positions can be open at once.
04 / Symbols and broker suffixes
Brokers name the same instrument differently (for example EURUSD, EURUSD.m or EURUSDpro). You can allow or block symbols, map one symbol to another, and set your broker's suffix so copied trades open on the right instrument.
05 / The trader leaderboard
Traders are ranked with their win rate, maximum drawdown and profit factor, and you can search the list. Drawdown shows how far a trader's account has fallen from a peak; weigh it as heavily as profit.
06 / Brokers
The list of supported broker servers comes from the copy-trading provider and changes over time. Whether your broker works, how its orders are executed and what it charges depend on the broker and on where you live. SFX Hub is not affiliated with any broker.
07 / Fees
MT5 copying uses the same profit share as Deriv copying: a percentage set by the trader, charged on each business day's realized profit and never on a losing day, payable within 24 hours. Unpaid fees pause copying, and demo copies are not billed. See About.
08 / Risk
CFDs are leveraged: a small move against a position can lose more than you expect, quickly. A trader's past results do not predict future ones. Never copy with borrowed money or money you cannot afford to lose.
